It is a pleasure to introduce our professional and fully qualified team of registered nurses and doctors, director and manager, and reception assistants. You’ll still need to have your family doctor (GP) for other issues, but for all your woman’s health, you can come to us.

RCpN BA FCNA (NZ)
Annette Milligan is a Registered Nurse with a teaching background who combines the worlds of education and health. In 1989 she founded INP Medical Clinic, which was originally called Independent Nursing Practice. The Clinic has won many national and international awards.
In 1995, Annette co-founded Ramazzini Ltd, an occupational health company, and in 2000 co-founded Health Click Ltd www.healthclick.co.nz, which produces sexuality education resources with a specialty in resources for people with learning disabilities.
Annette is a founding Trustee of the innovative Safeguarding Children Initiative www.safeguardingchildren.org.nz, is a Director and Network Tasman Ltd, and electricity lines company www.networktasman.co.nz. She is the Clinical Director for Women, Child & Youth at Nelson Marlborough DHB www.nmdhb.govt.nz
Gabi has trained as a medical assistant in an internal medicine practice. When she immigrated to NZ, she completed a Level 4 Certificate in Business and Office Administration.
Gabi has found the perfect job working in office administration in a health care setting. Gabi is responsible for making sure that all the systems at INP work smoothly for clients and staff.
She is committed to ensuring that the INP delivers a high level of quality care so that clients get the best outcomes possible, in a timely way. She works very hard to manage the Practice with high levels of efficiency and ensuring that the Practice is sustainable into the future.
Chris is the receptionist you see in the mornings at the front desk, or speak to when you phone us. She has worked in busy reception areas before and knows how to juggle all the demands.
She’ll be warm and inviting – so if you need an appointment – just phone or drop in to make a time to see one of the doctors or nurses.
Sharyn is the receptionist you see in the afternoons. She joined the team at INP Medical Clinic at the beginning of 2011.
She brings a wealth of experience in managing that all-important job: the front desk. She knows that it can be really scary coming to the clinic for the first time and will all she can to make the appointment process nice and easy for you
RCpN BA MCNA (NZ)Registered Nurse
Lucy trained as a nurse in Wellington and went on to complete a BA with a particular focus on the health of communities. She has worked in NZ and Australia in intensive care, operating theatres, surgical and paediatric wards.
Lucy was involved in research programmes on pain relief. Since 1998 Lucy has worked in the area of sexual and reproductive health. Lucy moved to Nelson in 2003 and started to work at INP Medical Clinic soon after that. Apart from working at the base clinic, Lucy runs two clinics in Nelson high schools, and is involved with the care of victims of sexual assault.

Jessica trained in Nelson as a Registered Nurse, then went on to complete her advanced nursing education to become a Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in a variety of nursing roles in Nelson/Marlborough and Auckland, focusing on the health and wellbeing of children and young people.
Jessica has a keen interest in working with young people – ensuring they know their options when it comes to their health, and making sure that the voice of young people in our community is heard. She also has a strong focus on quality in healthcare, optimising excellence in care provision as well as supporting other nurses to work to the top of their scope.
RCpN BNRegistered Nurse
Rebecca trained as a nurse at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology and has worked as a Practice Nurse in primary care (General Practice) in Golden Bay.
Rebecca is passionate about youth health and in particular, working in partnership with youth to develop positive attitudes about themselves and how to positively engage in safer sexual experiences.
Bev has come to Nelson from the UK with a strong background in nursing in the community, in general practices and in the occupational health area. She has successfully completed a two year programme on sexual health and family planning in the UK.
Because of this training, Bev was able to do a full range of contraceptive consultations including inserting IUCDs and implants. Bev is really interested in teenagers and is always keen to promote awareness of sexual health among women and men of all ages, and is involved with the care of victims of sexual assault.
Dr Kirstie Harris
MBChB Dip Obst FRNZCGP
Kirstie trained in Dunedin and Christchurch and has worked at INP since arriving in Nelson in 1995. The makes her the longest-serving doctor at the clinic.
She also works part-time as a General Practitioner in another clinic. Kirstie has an expertise in a wide-range of sexual health, contraceptive and women’s health issues.
Dr Jan Arnold
MBChB Dip Obst
Dr Jan Arnold trained in Dunedin and Christchurch as a general practitioner with an interest in young people, women’s health and sexual health.
She is currently clinical director at the Nelson Sexual Health Clinic, and also works part-time in General Practice.
Dr Bryony (Bee) Hildick-Smith
Bee trained in St Thomas’s hospital, London and trained as a GP in England. She worked there for 10 years as a GP and in family planning and sexual health.
With 3 daughters, Bee is passionate about the provision of the widest range of contraceptive services possible in New Zealand.
Dr Claire Thurlow

Claire trained at Otago University Medical School in Dunedin and Wellington. She trained as a General Practitioner in Nelson.
She has an interest in women’s and adolescent health. She also works at Sexual Health Clinic and is a part-time in General Practice. She is involved in the care of victims of sexual assault for which she has specialty training.
